Sometimes...Somewhere      Oil Slicks
As yellow smears of dying
Cast upon a once blue sky
We sit in our complacency
deaf to the mournful cry.

The cry from our own coastline
With its stinking coat of oil
The once white beach deserted now,
replaced by blackened oil.
I sit and dream of all the days
I've roamed the beaches there
I've walked the sands along the shore
without a thought or care.
Ah! Then to watch the death of beauty
As- cast up from the sea
Comes a blackened stench of oily scum,
a man-made tragedy.

Oh, I've suffered as a witness
To the mournful, desolate cry
Of seabirds circling overhead
AS they watch their own mates die.
Not a deat

I think this might be manipulation but I coud not find where to click. These are two of my oil paintings. One of a person in red sitting on a beach ins a cove.The other is a painting of the patterns the waves make on the sand.

I like your small brave person sitting so close to the water. She is dwarfed against the elements. Or at least that is what this piece makes me feel. :) Lovely. :)
