Firepower

I do not wish to tread on any person;s sensibilities but I really question the need for   assault rifles, military weapons and high calibre anything.
I am a licenced firearms carrier  here for the euthanasia of injured wildlife and feral animals.
What is the FEAR that American NRA people carry?
Just having a Bill of Rights that says you can is really smacking of hypocrisy because in those days they could not have conceived of todays weapons.
Here in my country we do not have such a Bill, nor do most of us want one. It is assumed that we have unlimited rights and until someone makes a mistake or does something gross like the mentally ill man who killed all those people in Tasmania.
Then, very swiftly and simple the government made automatic fire and arms, illegal and they bought back all our now"" illegal weapons It was done painlessly by increasing the medicare tax we pay bey 1% I think. There is a great deal to be said for a strong federal Government at times.
I hated handing in my -44 Ruger but was compensated very well. In fact i made a killing in what I handed in and was able to but some great necessary smaller calibre weapons that are all registered and legal. The cops come unannounced to check on gun lockups and ammo under lock and key.
Point is...we do not stand behind some old Right that is obsolete, and we dont legislate until necessary as we work on tje presumption of "common law".
I just cannot comprehend the FEAR and INSECURITIES that must fuel the need in America for such unnecessary overkill.
I have hunted deer in Upper Michigan with bow, and carbine...both were for food as i could not eat grainfed beef. You just need a trusty rifle, scope if you don't make your blind and freeze your butt offIt is all based on fear of people I thing and that is downright scary for your country.....but ASSAULT rifle?????
C'mon people.        (APologies to any one who wants to snarl at me)
